James Randi lied about Uri Geller's SRI experiments
Stanford Research Institute experiments on Uri Geller resulted in remote viewing scores that were far above chance.
James Randi in his book Flim-Flam! argues…
- that the films made of Geller’s experiments were not shot by Life war photographer Zev Pressman
- that the SRI films credit Pressman without his knowledge.
- that Pressman said Geller’s succesful experiments were filmed after he had gone home.
- that Pressman disagreed with Uri Geller displaying any psychic functioning.
Pressman later came out and said “The ‘revelations’ [Randi] attributes to me are pure fiction.” Pressman maintained the videos were authentic.
Randi also claimed a physicist named Arthur Hebard accused the SRI scientists of lying about their results. This physicist also denied Randi’s statements.
